XCOM 2

Can't start, says the game requires directx 10.1 but I already have directx 11
Title says it all. The games mod thing comes up, I have directx 11, but the game says that it requires directx 10.1 to play. Any fix, any way to download directx 10.1, or am I screwed?

Also having this problem. Updating drivers, verifying cache, compatibility modes, manually installing and rerunning all the applications in the main Steamapps folder - nothing works.

Hype train derailed :/

Windows 7? On a laptop? Cause that's my problem as well. This ♥♥♥♥ has happened before in the past, and It's somehow fixed itself, but I'm pissed. Hopefully there will either be a patch or something, cause this is the only game in my library that's doing this so far.

I've got DirectX 11, but I'm on Vista. Anyone know if this is the problem?

Worked it out. My PC has Dx11 installed but apparently my elderly Geforce GTX 260 can't actually use it.

Time for an upgrade... good luck folks.

The requirements specifically state 460 or greater.

This does tend to be a point of confusion. There is a difference between having a version of Direct X installed, and having a graphics adapter support that version of Direct X.

This is what worked for me. Go to Computer>Local Disc C>Program Files x86>Steam>steamapps>common>XCOM2>VCRedist

Run vcredist_x86 and let it repair.

Worked like a charm for me, hope it does for you. Good luck!

Didn't work. I don't know what the hell is wrong. This is just stupid. I hope they patch the game soon that may fix this or something.
