Void Rift extra attacks?
I trained one psi soldier pretty high just to test them because i never really used psi here or in EU/EW.
I use Void Rift always when i have 3 enemys or more.
After i used it the soldier starts 2 extra psi attacks.
Dunno why it happens and if thats intended but doesnt this make the psi soldiers pretty op?

Void Rift sometimes inflicts Insanity on each target struck by the Void Rift. I think it can fail but if it doesn't it will randomly inflict a status effect ranging from, IIRC, panic, disorient, or MIND CONTROL. The visualization for this is that you do the attack and then they animate each individual Insanity attack on viable targets.

There's another skill they train for that lets psi ops hit any organic enemies in the void rift with insanity (I think)

I suspect you've upgraded Void Rift to also have a chance to apply Insanity. If that's the case, those "extra attacks" are the Insanity chances happening. They appear as separate attacks after the initial Void Rift but they are part of the same action. Insanity does not always trigger for each enemy though. Sometimes it will only trigger for one, or for all of them, or none at all.

Which then combos even further with the ability which adds damage and rupture to insanity.
Also, insanity only has a chance of triggering for organic units. Robotic units still take damage from the rift but will not be subject to insanity.

Basically, yes. It looks awkward because the void rift activation animation is completed and the soldier returns to their default stance and then the insanity triggers take effect. This is similar to how Rapid Fire looks awkward because the soldier resets their stance completely between shots. "Rapid" in name only lol. Although I hear they improved that in a patch...haven't checked.

Sort of. It literally applies the effect of the Insanity ability. The animation shows the psi op "casting" Insanity. but yeah, you can think of it that way
