Key Bindings
Can anyone confirm whether or not you can bind left mouse to move forward and right mouse to move back? Yes, I'm one of the smaller % who still play this way but not worth the purchase is I can't customize those two buttons.

What do you mean by move forward and back? Am I the only one missing something here?

Can you bind the action 'move forward' to left mouse button and 'move backward' to right mouse button?

Soldiers don't move that way. You select a soldier and right click to the destination.

There is no moving forward or backwards in this game. Before buying a video game I suggest looking at pictures or gameplay.

Thanks Alex. Not sure why I thought this was an FPS. I'm not really into strategy or turn based type games so this title is out for me. Appreciate the response though!

Hey Hotdog. Thanks for being so awesome and positive. I looked at the trailer and should've looked at the gameplay vids but you are such an awesome and inspiring person!

Purely out of curiosity, why would you want forward and backward movement rebound to your left & right mouse buttons in a fps?

Some people are more comfortable using keys to shoot. Even though for a game like csgo it is a obvious disadvantage in competitive play.

I've just always played that way. The history is that back in the days of Doom and Quake the movement keys were the arrows which is where your right hand rests on the keyboard. Shoot and alt shoot were ctrl and other keys around that. When they introduced mouse support into FPS it was a natural transition to just move your right hand from the arrow keys to the mouse.

This is definitely NOT a disadvantage. Not bragging by any stretch and there are always people better than me but I'm consistently in the top 3 of almost every match of any FPS game I play. Although I typically only play BF4 these days as far as FPS games go. I'm old school but again, am very very good at FPS playing w/ this set up. In fact, I think it's an advantage as all movement (except strafing - still A&D) are on the mouse. Really an advantage for MMOs where you have tons of abilities to use and can get to them all w/ left hand. Also using a multi buttoned mouse allows me to bind the side mouse key to Alt and then double the amount of buttons easily accesible w/ my left hand. i.e. Alt+ 'any other button' combined bound to abilities.

One more thing to note, I haven't played CS in a long time. I used to be very good at that game too but I prefer more strategy and team work that you find in BF4. Just a personal preference. How is CS these days?
Crokite Mar 25, 2016 @ 10:41am
if you can not bind keys ingame for your use of key/mouse bindings. there is extern binding script programs you can use. one is: Autohotkey from
https://autohotkey.com/docs/misc/Remap.htm
there is lot of todays games that uses hardcoded keybinding. this is one workaround for that problem. it might take some time to get use to/understands how it works. but ones you get the basic ide of it. it does help in many games.
i use it on some games and find it helpfull.

Very good point Crokite. Thanks! I already have a similar program by using a Nostromo N52 game pad (which is mappable) and also using logitech's gaming software to be able to bind keys on the mouse as well. In theory it sounds great and does work for some games but due to the way many developers utilize the mouse (especially in games where you can't rebind some keys), it becomes very quirky and sometimes doesn't work properly. I definitely want to look into the autohotkey app you referenced though to see if it is better than what I'm using. Really appreciate the info!

Well I don't see you ever playing CSGO, you played 7 hours of source of though.

I have a total of 715 hours on csgo with both of my accounts, I can tell you that playing your way is a disadvantage in csgo. I did not mention any other games and I do not consider all FPS games the same unlike you.

CSGO has become the most watched FPS pro scene game. I don't want to get into an argument but there is way more strategy and teamwork in CSGO than battlefield. I have playing battlefield since battlefield 1943 then bought every piece of battlefield since then up until hardline which was bad. There is strategy in battlefield but most of it is chaos. There is much more strategy In csgo due to it being 5 man team with no respawns with 30 rounds, 2 minutes per round.
