Remove GREMLIN/old med gameplay
Hello there! I've seen 0 topics about this anywhere I went, so I've decided to write a post here.

So I've started modding Xcom(well a while ago) to bring a bit of nostalgia from the EU/EW, like I really hate the idea of the rocket gauntlet, it looks and feels kinda boring to me, also it removes certain charisma from both of potential weapons such as rocket launchers and flamethrowers, because It has combined them into one gauntlet...

So I've downloaded a rocket launcher mod just like in previous game. It feels very neat to use it! Same goes for the flamethrower - I installed a chemthrower, which is badass!

But there's essentialy one thing that bothers me - medics. Remember the healing animation from EU/EW and overall gameplay of medics?
You had to think more strategicaly about them and you were always fearful to put them on flank positions, because in order to heal somebody you needed to you know... manualy walk to the injured trooper with your own legs? And then this neat cute animation of spray happened? Which is so satisfying?

Medics became kinda dumb in Xcom2 imo cause now they're just regular soldiers who can just order GREMLIN to fart heals on anyone on the map(wow you definitely finished med training 4 this) And the overall healing process alongside with the animation don't feel as relieving and satisfying for me...

So to cut to the chase - I thought for a long time how to bring medic gameplay from EU without using gremlin's AND so it would be viable. Maybe you've got ideas?

And btw I use LWOTC+RPGO, so my options are very limited... so no "Field Medic" class mod lol

I'd say LWOTC offers enough of a challenge as is so it doesn't need healing made more difficult.

Indeed it does, but I have some other mods that unintentionally ease my suffering :)

One of the Specpacks for RPGO I've used (i forget which one, it was a tertiary spec i think) has a Medical option (Combat medic is the name) ~ i normally give it to soldiers who could do with having more personal medical aid but would work for that "need"

The Support class in Chimera Classes have no gremlins if you interested in other mods

Really not sure what are you talking about, I've browsed many RPGO mods. Maybe you remember the author for 'tertiary' though?

Its in this one, not a Tertiary as such, i just treat it as one

Literally gonna try it out now and see

I have a very dumb backup plan though if I won't find anything - just download the mod which doubles medkits or something and never pick the first medic gremlin ability, but that'd be sad

Yeah, that's so neat! I've browsed through the combat med abilities, they're so cute!

Thanks to you a lot really <3
