Rend a Beserker. No damage?
Rend a Beserker. No damage? Vicious counter melee? Whats up with that? Is normal, or a bug?

I guess it was Muton and not Berserker.

And ye, he counter melee attacks.
Yes, that was my guess as well.
It probably a normal muton, not berzerker.
And yes, those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ have like 40% chance to parry any incoming melee attack which prevents them from taking any damage, and also they then do a counter attack with a bayonet and it hurts quiet a lot, as well as has a chance to render soldier unconcious.
By game files it should be 66%.

However I never saw Muton to not use it (well, likely because I usually dont risk it...)

Its worthy mention that he has onyl one chance per turn and he cna not do it if desoriented - so combo flashbang+melee still works.

You mean templar's primary attack?
Are you sure it was berzerker? Probably a bug.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I prefer good ol' shotgun in the butthole. The only way to make sure.

thx didn't see any info saying mutons had auto counter to blade attack. Makes sense given their role on battlefield. Their version of bladestorm.

Yeah. I believe either Bradford or Tygan directly calls them "CQC specialists". These bastards are basically ADVENT's SWAT force. Thank god they cant throw flashbangs too.
