mimic beacons still worth it?
After the nerfing is it still worth it to get beacons?

They can still be fairly useful, as they do delay attacks and any unit that misses hitting it is one less attack against any friendlies.

It's just not OPly broken as it was before where you could almost guarantee all the enemies would attack it and miss.

Absolutely. They're still incredibly powerful early on, when they're guaranteed to tie up at least two enemies and often entire pods. They just don't stay OP as far into the late game as they used to, but by that time you don't need the help as much.

I haven't used them prior to the nerf to not get used to the ease.

When I used them after the nerf I was so shocked at their effectiveness that I couldn't imagine how powerful they were prior to the nerf.

1 mimic beacon and 1 flash grenade saved me from a certain wipe during an accidental double pod trigger. When fighting the remains of another pod. On a retaliation mission. In early game.

I've only unlocked mag weapons and faced 2 mutons, 1 zerker, 2 officers, a shieldbearer and a stun lancer. It was a life saver - not only did I not get a wipe, but haven't lost any soldiers, which was a miracle with those odds.

I ALWAYS take a mimic beacon and a flashbang on a mission since then.

Mimic beacon, Flashbang and Freeze grenade are part of my standard loadout and used when things inevitably go 'oops'.

Sniper with dragon rounds for DoT and ranger with bluescreen for bots are also in there.
