How customisable are the new Alien Ruler armours?
I'm between playthroughs at the moment (and likely won't get another chance to play XCOM2 until Shen's DLC comes out, too many good games in my backlog :steamhappy: ) so I haven't been able to check the DLC out yet, but I've had a look at a few non-spoiler videos online of the new kit, at least.

I'm really not keen on the look of the Berzerker and Serpent armours (Serpent one in particular looks like some of the old Jaffa armour from SG-1 before they had a decent budget/FX), but the Archon/Icarus suit looks awesome.... except for the helmet (it doesn't look that bad but would prefer the Powered 3 I use on all my troops once power armour has been researched).

How much customisation do these armours have? Do they have alternate looks like the other armours? Can I apply whatever helmet/headgear I wish to them, like the other armours?

Not as certain about alternate looks, but you can recolor them and apply different helmets, for sure.

Serpent armor can be made to look pretty cool by, first and foremost, getting rid of the ridiculous helmet. After that you can change the patterns and colors around to get some pretty cool looks. The default blue and white with the snake head looks like a Snek Halloween Costume though :)

Thanks guys. Aside from the helmet (and maybe the shoulders), Serpent armour looks ok. Just glad I can use the Icarus armour without that weird helmet.

Im using halo armors for my squad, which I want to keep it that way. One squaddie on a freak serpent skin is not realy appealing. I hope there will be mods which let us use the abilities yet customize the look

I think there's a guy out there who before the DLC was already working on turning Icarus's flying and R.A.G.E. punches into heavy weapon options. We need to raise him.

Uniform manager: Make a uniform and then equip it to the soldier

Tbh I kind of wish Firaxis's art guys would at least try to maintain the kind of aesthetic they laid down in the base game. It seems a bit weird to absolutely nail all these awesome armour designs then ruin it with weird stuff that makes my guys looks like they're sports team mascots or something.

As for heavy weapon options... tbh I'm fine with them being one-of-a-kind armours, I like using Blaster bombs and Shredstorm cannons too much. I just wish they actually looked like armours.

I'm still not sure if I want to make my official XCOM helmet as ADVENT Lancer ones, though... :B1:

My Grenadier can headbutt Lancers to death with Capnbubs' Warden 2 helmet.
