Red screens

So, this started a couple of days ago, and it's gotten really annoying.

I played the game fine multiple times, then, one day, it decided to give me some red screen error when I loaded up a save. Thinking the solution was simple, I exited, checked the data cache, and it said 18 files needed to be reaquired. After that was taken care of, I loaded in again and the same exact thing happened... only this time, after checking the cache, it said all the files were validated, and none needed to be reaquired. That's when I uninstalled and reinstalled... nothing changed.

I want so badly to beat this game already, so I decided to just deal with it. It only happened at the beginning, after all. Fast forward to today, and it's not just at the beginning anymore. Now, it gives me a red screen every single time one of the following happens:

*I load the game
*I go to the geoscape
*Bradford finishes his briefing at the statrt of each mission
*One of my soldiers fires a reaction shot
*Archons and Gatekeepers move or attack
*Something blows up
*I hack successfully (Unsuccessful hacking doesn't do this for some reason)
*A unit, friendly or hostile, catches fire
*An enemy turret turns on
*A civilian moves
*A faceless reveals itself
*A Chrysalid burrows
*One of my soldiers reloads her gun (Yes, I have an all female team... and they kick serious butt)
*A research project is completed
*A dark event activates
*The camera goes anywhere near the Avatar project site
*I buy something from the black market

There's more I could add, but I think you get the point. Now, I've tried looking, and I have been unsuccessful in my attempts of finding a solution to my problem. That's why I come to you guys... do you have a solution for me?

The red screens generally show up in debug mode, AFAIK.

Then how do I get it out of debug mode? I don't even know how I turned it on... if I did.

Are you starting the game from the launcher, or directly from the executable? I know I've seen reports of it being in debug mode if you don't use the launcher.

To your startup options in Steam.
