Why do snakes have boobs now

Because nearly every alien you fight is a basic clone, fabricated to fight for the Ethereals. More then likely for the Snakes, the female is the better warrior and easier controlled.

The Alien Hunters DLC actually explains that one. The Viper King could actually take control of the other Vipers away from the Ethereals, and on top of that could produce a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Viper babies in a very, very short span of time. So, naturally, the Ethereals got rid of the King and started bioengineering their own Vipers.

Furthermore, they're NOT snakes. They're aliens with characteristics similar to earth reptiles, specifically snakes. They are not confined by the anatomical traits of earth reptiles.
