Boltcaster is single shot but can be reloaded and has higher chance to hit, does more damage than normal rifle and has low chance to stun.
Axes do same damage as sword and throw axe is a free action (highly useful vs rulers)
Pistol has same damage and to hit as normal pistol plus one time/mission guaranteed hit
The Axes gives you a FREE move, the axe throw, and FREE moves are especially useful against Rulers as they don't get a move on FREE moves.
The Pistol's Special ability lets your pistol user go into concealment IF it kills his/her target, and attacking while in concealment also grants a "no Ruler move" turn.
Frost nades maybe cool... but they don't do any damage.
He it beats having a sword with no free attack.
The pistol well just use it for the aim bonus stacks with your sniper rifle also good.
Boltcaster is rubbishe :P (my personal opnion. I just love the looks of it)
The freeze bomb is ok. no complaints about that one.
Shadowkeeper - Love this weapon, especially since I only ever use Sharpshooters as Pistoleers. The slight damage bonus over normal pistols is pretty cool, but the ability to get a guaranteed hit on a critically-wounded target, not only killing it but also getting concealement from it is awesome.
Boltcaster - Ah, this weapon is a fickle creature that you should pray to for an hour before each time you fire it, otherwise it'll miss even those 90% shots (because you didn't pray to it). If one hour of praying doesn't suffice, sacrifice one rookie per shot, that should work.
...
In all seriousness though, give it Talon rounds and it's a high-damage weapon that ignores armour, has an aim bonus and can stun (especially Rulers). GIve it to a specialist with Icarus armour (supposing you can beat that damnable Archon King) and they can instantly fly to the high ground and get a near-guaranteed shot.
And don't forget the sacrifices...
Frost Bomb - Not the most spectacular weapon ever, but it's nice if the Bolt Caster fails to stun a Ruler, if it even hits (why didn't you sacrifice a rookie?!). Just remember that Sectopods and Gatekeepers only loose one action when frozen.
You cannot change the INI file of the hunter weapons without breaking the DLC. If you even touch the file it will disable all the DLC weapons and prevent you from using them
I have found that myself
It is a real burn that we cannot alter the DLC weapon stats without breaking it
Still, at least the frostbomb is unaffected
If i want to have a high powered weapon, i will have to mod the shotgun
and give all soldiers assault rifles as standard
Thanks for the help regardless and good hunting
