Help! Game crashing [log in here, NO mods]
Hi!

I'm in the middle of the XCOM 2 WOTC campaign and suddenly my game keeps crashin, when I'm on the world map, fly to a location and start to scan. The focus shifts to the headquarter for a second and then the game freezes.

I've played the campaign before and had more progress, so in these runs there were no problems at all.

It also doesn't matter which savegame I'm loading - this error keeps constant, on some saves it crashes even in the loading screen.

Any help on this?

Verifying game files and the usual things didn't change anything.

Okay, what i found out so far: it definetly has to do with the covert ops!
The crash occurs, because a covert ops mission is finished, and instead of getting me to the results screen, it simply crashes.

I can confirm this, because the game crashes if I just forward the time until the mission is completed AND it also crashes directly, when I click onto the covert ops button in the right down corner of the globe map. :(

So.....are there any known issues with this?
I made many covert ops before, never had an issue. Maybe it's a combination between the covert ops mission and a specific character?

Sadly I have no savegame BEFORE i sent them to this specific mission. :(

But I don't run avast or any 3rd-party-antivir so far...

Got it solved: it really had to do with the characterportraits and posters in the photobooth folder. There were some corrupted images, which lead to the crash, when the game tries to grab them, for "finishing" the covert ops mission. Just replaced the corrupted images with some from another savegame and - voila - no more crashes! :)

Took my a few hours and lots of web-researching to figure it out and get the clou.

Hope this topic may help somebody, who encounter this problem too.
This game may be old, but it's still great.
