Bladestorm and Overwatch Hit Chance?
Does action/movement triggered attacks like Bladestorm and Overwatch have their own hit chance calculation that is separate from the character? Asking because I have a character who has 140% (round to 100%) hit chance on slash but missed his bladestorm twice in a row, same with a reaper who has close to 100% hit chance on sniper shots but misses about half of her shots on overwatch.

So do these have a different calculation? If so what's the penalty/how do they work?

As far as I know it’s the same, but you’re facing 98% for a half move and 84% for a dashing enemy with 140% (140 ✕ 0.7 and 140 ✕ 0.6 respectively)

Blade storm and overwatch suffer from penalties yes, as said above it varies depending how fast the enemy is moving (2 moves or 1 move). But yes an aim penalty on reaction attacks

Bladestorm is a melee overwatch so it always misses againts lighting reflex if first ow) and has the OW standard 0,7 aim multiplier,0,6 aim multiplier if the target is dashing.

Return fire abilities are also penalised as OW.Return fire also get cover bonus penalty.......

And enemies can also have defence values,10 defence is very common by midgame eg.Muton,Elite trooper, captain

Do not know if OW % penalty applies after or before aim-defence calcualtion are done.

As mentioned, bladestorm sometimes misses, depending on circumstances, but has a fairly decent chance.

Also, since it's a melee attack, targets are at close range, and often are closing in for a melee assault on you. When the relevant technologies are available, I like to kit out all my Shinobis with fusion blades and Hellweave vests. This makes a melee assault against them pretty much suicidal.

I like to plop my Shinobi with this gear right next to a Muton type, and take a shot at it with my gun. The Muton will almost always attempt a bayonet attack on its move, which results in an ablaze Muton running around the battlefield screaming. Hot times!

Shinobis are not in what game? Vanilla X-Com2? Who plays that, and since when is there no Shinobi profession?

For reference, I am doing LW2 version, with a few mods.

I mean long war 2 is a trash mod, long war of the chosen even more trash.

Long war 1 was amazing though.
