What is the actual download size of this game?

I'm not referring to the required disk space to install, but the compressed download size that's displayed once you actually start downloading the game. I have a data limit, so I'm trying to figure out if buying it right now will be a waste on my end or not.

It's about 75 for Wotc. You can remove many parts of it after though, because it's a dual install, including the vanilla game.

That's the compressed download size? That doesn't seem compressed at all.

Example: Subnautica lists 20GB as install size. When you actually download it, you download 3.1GB that then unpacks into the full size.

Can't quite remember if it was full 75gb download or half that. theoretically you can look it up here https://steamdb.info/app/268500/depots/ but it is pretty confusing.

That's what's going to be on the computer with a full install. Again, you can remove the movies or whatever to trim it down to 40 or so, but default, that's the space of your drive you're contributing.

Yeah but that's not what he's asking. Most things you download off the internet are compressed in things like zip files, to save data usage and time. Example you download a compressed thing that's 5 gigabytes, that's the amount of data you use downloading off the Internet. Then you install or unpack that compression, and it becomes 20gb and uses up that space on your computer.

However in that case you did not download 20 gb from the internet and use 20gb of data, you downloaded a 5gb compressed thing then installed it (which installation of programs is unpacking of a compressed file) and it became 20gb afterwards, but used no internet connection or data for that extra 15gb.

Yeah. I'm not worried about how much space is going to be used up on my drive. I just want to make sure I'm not cutting into my internet's data cap too much.

The easy way is to start the download see how much it is by clicking install button - it tells you on the pop up windows before you validate the download data required.

XCOM 2 should be 32GB whereas the full XCOM2 + WOTC + DLCs is 71GB

Yeah I reinstalled recently and it said 78GB. I know there was a previous post recently where they were saying 80GB on disk was not enough.

So somewhere in there as I had only 102GB available

If you look at a large depot it is 32.12 GiB on disk and 26.29 GiB download so only 18% compression. Add in patch updates and I suspect disk size and download about the same.
