Codex-related shadow chamber bug.

i've only played through this game like, once. the other times i didn't feel like completing (don't ask me why, idk either). anyways, sometimes i get a weird bug related to the codex shadow chamber projects. sometimes, the cutscene doesn't trigger when the research is completed. so i'm still in the map-view but with the research being done apparently, and no new node appeared on the map. so, i visit the shadow chamber. nothing, but the next available research. same thing. eventually, i just got stuck in the campaign.

Some mods, like "Shut up Bradford" or others can cause issues like this. It may have something to do with the cut-scene being "disabled" by the mod(s). Just a thought. It did happen to me, and it was at exactly the same place. I disabled the mod, and the game ran fine. I didn't turn it back on to see if it would keep working fine, as I didn't want any more agravation.

i don't have any mods that would even come close to "disable" cutscenes. literally every other cutscene is playing, EXCEPT the codex ones in the shadow chambers.

Hmm, something certianly doesn't make sense then.
If you are using any mods; I would try turning them all off and load the save-game before the codex event in the shadow chamber, and see if it works then.
You may be able to re-enable the mods after that, but I'm not 100% sure of that, as like I said, I never actually tried that.

Failing that, I have no idea. You may have to run the usual gauntlet, IE: Re-validiate your game files, or clear My Documents/Games/XCOM2/config file folder, re-install the game, un-install/un-subscribe and re-install/re-subscribe to all your mods, and or the game itself...ect

I know this is an old post but I'm adding to it because I've just run into the same issue myself and want somthing down in writing for anyone else who may run into this issue.
Think it's borked a good run too :(.
By chance are / where you using the Xcom2 Community Highlander and the Idle suppresion mod? A post in the disscusion section of these mods by "I Darkstar X (Fall Semester)" suggests they (or a combination of these with other mods) may cause this to happen.

Was there ever a fix for this? the cutscenes wont trigger for me either.
