XCOM 2
Can someone explain what is wrong with Quicksave/Quickload?
Sometimes the keybinds work sometimes they dont.
I press them multible times and in some mission I can save and load with F5/F9
but sometimes it doesnt work at all. I never had such a thing in any game.
Why is that and what can I do about it?
sometimes I press F5 and it creates an quicksave but sometimes it does nothing!
sometimes I press F9 and it autoloads the quicksave but sometimes I have to load it manually

You cannot save during actions. Example.. You cannot save while a soldier is running towards a new position, shooting, or otherwise any action really..

You could also just be dealing with some sort of conflict. Can't say which, but Steam Overlays or other launchers can prioritize over the game your playing.
What confuses me is that I never ever get a notification when pressing F5 like you do in other games like "game saved" or such.

Are the "sometimes" when it doesn't work when playing the TLP missions, by any chance?
TLP Missions?
I started a new game and I am like 20 hours in the campaign. Could it be?

No. The TLP missions are separate from the campaign. You'd know it if you were playing them.
Also when I quickload it always loads an older normal Savegame instead of an quicksave! Man this bug is annoying af!

So, sometimes if you are too quick to hammer the F9 key for a reload, the game will loose the plot on that keystroke. Chill a bit, make sure the game has finished animating any horrific death you are experiencing, and then try.

Are you using "stop wasting my time"? Is one of the many bugs of that mod.

Dont get me wrong but that makes little sense to me to tolerate such thing. When a software recognizes a load sequence why should it pick the wrong savegame just because there is still any sort of action going on? And I am not saying that it was in my case.
I mean I get it, if the quick savegame isnt finished in saving it will not load the correct one. But this game loads old savegames and skipps "autosaves" and "quicksaves".
Anyway it doesnt change that I find it really buggy! I'll try to let the game finish all sequences next time but with a rig like mine you stop beeing tolerant to "waiting" xD

Almost five years later, and this bug still exists.

I didn't think f9 even worked so I've been just manually loading the f5 quicksave, never had any issues doing it that way.
