XCOM 2
Free to Play
Hi! I downloaded XCOM 2 as part of the F2P deal. Will I still be able to play the game once the time window closes?

No. The purpose of F2P weekend is to convince you to actually buy the game once the free play period is up.

Aye, it's to let you take a personal taste of the game and decide if you're about it.

Treat it like a limited time demo.

Remember sale ends when the free time ends

F2P weekends = modern game demo

You don't get a demo disc you can play indefinitely free with your game magazine anymore :steammocking: you get sporadic and rare free weekends instead :steamhappy:

In some ways it is better seeing as you get the full game for free to try out as opposed to getting a stipped down verision of the game to try. In terms of determining if you want the game or not, free weekends are vastly superior.

I remember back in the days I would go demo hunting online to find games to play.

When deal would be done you would have to buy the game to continue playing... I'm suffering through the consequences of this myself: many years ago there was a F2P weekend for XCOM EU (well before EW release). I downloaded, played it for few hours and ordered special edition over the well-known-river-site with 2 day delivery... Since then I have to preorder XCOM stuff b/c the damn things are way too good.
