Should I rush magnetic weapons research vanilla legendary ironman?
I have 91 intel and just finished my first supply raid.
I can finish MAG weapons for 80 intel and immediately get an edge up. Or will losing that much intel screw me over for the rest of the game for building relays?

Even without ironman, its best to rush magnetic weapons asap because of the new enemies that will appear higher force levels. I like to have them before I go into the objective to Skulljack ADVENT officers. *Gives middle finger to Codexes*

And I won't instantly get screwed over by lack of intel?
Second question, what can I safely sell on the black market early on?

You don't need that much intel for Railguns, only Scientists. A Specialist with a skulljack should keep your intel high enough for the whole game. As long as you don't trigger multiple pods or a boss. (Sectopod, Gatekeeper and Chosen)

1) When it comes to intel, I find the best rule-of-thumb is to always make sure you have about 40 (25 minimum) of it left spare by the end of the month. If you can't guarantee that sort of numbers then don't spend any that would put you below it.
I say that mostly for the dark events, always nice to have all the cards on the table when they come up.

2) Easiest way to answer that is to give you this list. This way you can go though it yourself and make a note of what's needed for what, when and how many.

You don't "finish" the research, you only halve the research time and that doesn't work at all in my experience. If you decide to go through with it and it does work, please let me know ;)

Rushing weapon research is almost never worth it in my experience

.However on Legendary diff it will only reduce research time BY 25 % ONLY and not 50% as the descyption says.On other diffs it reduces it by 50%.

Buying scientist. for intel is a better value long term.

Legendary usually have x2 time on everything and x3 on excavation.
However by the time advent advanced troopers(force lvl 7) show up you should be tier 2.
