XCOM 2
Willpower bug breaking my boys. Any advice here?
So, new to the whole discussion thing, but I'll simply state this. My two main troops were sent out a bunch, (As I do that to give them negative traits to turn into positive traits.) they got shaken on a mission with another trooper. Yet, when the one trooper came out of being shaken, the other two just are seemingly permanently stuck on being 'shaken'. With no days left on it, not even a '0 days' thing. Just the single word, and that's it.

I checked both of their wills, and they're topped off to the max, yet are not recovering. I really don't want to have to dismiss them, or freaking start over as I have a self-rule to keep specific 'hero' units alive that I've designated.

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? Is there something in the files I could go in and edit to fix them, or a mod that could possible help? I've looked for the latter, but haven't found anything that can help me out...

What? Negative in to positive? You are playing a modded game and without knowing what mods you use i dont think anyone can help you.

Maybe you're using that mod which adds prosthetics? Augments I think it's called. Perhaps they need a prosthetic arm or something, troopers will show "--" for wound time in that case. Maybe it's the same for Will loss.

I'm not using any mods that do anything towards being shaken. It's a base-game thing as far as I'm aware, for when they naturally recover from negative traits, they gain positive or neutral ones in their place. So it's incredibly odd that it's having this reaction.

I also didn't say I don't know what mods I'm using Perplex, so, dunno what made you think that. I was asking if there were any mods that could *PATCH* this kind of thing. As this is certainly some kind of weird bug.

Unless a side-effect of a main-line mod is to add that, as far as I am aware the changing traits when they rest/go through missions unhurt is a base-game WOTC thing. I really do need someone to give some advice here, as I'd rather not have to start over, since that's the rule stipulation I put in is that they can't be dead/unusable.

I'm on my fourth WotC campaign and never experienced this. Good luck.

The only time I've ever seen positive quirks replacing negative ones, the player was definitely using a mod. I think it was one of Christopher Odd's playthroughs but I don't remember which one. Other than that I've never seen positive traits at all, and I've never even seen or experienced that negative traits go away on their own, they always have to be removed in the Infirmary in my experience (or just lived with).

what are positive shaken conditions??

In the base game, you clear shaken status by sending out the trooper on a mission, not getting them injured, and getting them a kill. When they return their will is restored and increased.

Sounds like you're on WotC, but thought I'd chime in with the above just in case. Can't remember if shaken works the same in the two versions.

To Sweden, I may have something beside a main-line mod, but I distinctly remember it being something from before I got into bigger mods, so it's likely a WOTC only thing if I'm remembering right.

And to menace they're not 'shaken' conditions. They're negative traits, like panicking at the sight of a certain unit, ect. Over time or in missions where they aren't hurt, over a bunch of them they'll eventually naturally recover, and gain positive or at least neutral traits. IE, being inexperienced in urban areas can turn into them having more mobility there.

And to Joe, that's not how shaken works in WOTC. In WOTC, they *have* to rest and can't be sent out until they've recovered. I think that portion that you're talking about is replaced by the traits going from negative to positive, unless I'm mis-remembering how I was playing vanilla(Or at least very little mods) WOTC.

I was curious so I did a search of the Workshop, and I'm pretty sure it would be Robojumper's "More Traits" mod. Looks like a very basic mod. WOTC only, yes, since "traits" aren't a thing in vanilla XCOM2.

That being said, that doesn't mean it's causing your problem, which is definitely a bug and probably related to a mod. But not necessarily that one. Very helpful, I know.

ah yes i seen negative traits gone away yes.
