This franchise is probably dead with War of the Chosen
There have been literally 2 proper Firaxis XCOMs, you can stretch to 4 if you include the Bureau (really its own entirely different game) and Chimera Squad (a cheaper shorter spinoff reusing assets). With a whole 2 proper-sized DLCs between them.
A stretch to compare to 6 Civilisations plus god knows how many expansions. Ridiculous to compare to COD or Assassins Creed.
Also, they didn't have to do a sequelbait ending for XCOM2 WOTC (and a different sequelbait ending for Chimera Squad), they could have ended properly like XCOM 1. But they did their sequelbait ending and now aren't delivering a sequel anytime soon. I feel I can be a bit peeved.
(Not sure why all the Marvel hate on the thread though)
