Lost Farming

On my current playthrough (Legend / Ironman) Im farming the Lost with my sharpshooter who is corporal rank right now. I want to get to Sergant and get +1 squad upgrade for the next mission (retaliation mission). I have counted over 150 Lost kills on that single soldier but still no promotion. Anyone knows how many should i kill to level up?

Its best not to farm The Lost, at all. Your better off doing actual missions or using Covert Actions to get him promoted.

There's only one promotion per mission. Meaning if he's got the promotion already he won't get another until the next mission. But the XP stacks, so he'll get the next promotion on the mission after that.

I want to get squad size 5 before the 1st retaliation mission and thats the easier way to do it.

Is there little "+" symbol near that soldier's rank when you select him? Because the notification for promotion might not appear and it's easy to miss in the heat of the moment.

not ranks but i think you can farm ability points by blocking ladders and kill them from higher ground

Well, try end the mission now and see if you get the promotion.

yes sometimes the plus doesnt show

Got the promotion at the end, it just was not showing in my game for some reason. My sharpshooter ended up with 208 kills :D

I vaguely recall seeing somewhere that 4 Lost kills count as one regular, but that might not be correct.
