However, I'd start by verifying the integrity of the game files (Right-click the game in your Steam Library > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files) This will cause Steam to check all of your game files and redownload any that have been corrupted.
The second thing I would try is to clear the contents of the config folder. Open Finder. Press Shift + Cmd + G. Type in or copy and paste:
"~/Library/Application Support/Feral Interactive/XCOM 2/VFS/Local/my games/XCOM2/XComGame" without the quotation marks. Press Enter. Go to the Config folder. Delete the contents within.
Please note that the file path that I provided is for the Vanilla version of the game. For the WotC expansion, you must instead input:
"~/Library/Application Support/Feral Interactive/XCOM 2 WotC/VFS/Local/my games/XCOM2 War of the Chosen/XComGame" without the quotation marks.
When start you up the game next, it will automatically generate fresh config files. Mods will often modify these files and can leave data behind that may cause issues when removed.
If the above two suggestions don't resolve your issue, then contact Feral Interactive Support.
Or contact hem immediately if you dont feel comfortable with the suggestions that I have provided.
Up to you.
