I'd say a full normal playthrough can be around 20 hours, depending on your playstyle. But this game is designed to be played over and over again. It has a lot of random elements and a lot of ways to tweak your play.
Also you should wait a few days for the steam winter sale, it's bound to drop to around 20$

Techincally, you can play as long as you want. Story missions don't have any timers. My regular playthrough was around 40-50 hours, sometimes more.

I just spent 1.5hrs on one mission. Warlock + supply raid + lost = 87 enemies. Crazyness! Full legend campaign for me is 80 hrs or so but I don't like to rush.

There's also enough that's randomised for it to be worth playing multiple times. The story is the glue of the game, but not the heart of it.

I would add, while also attempting to not spoiler the game, that there is a ticking timer element to the game that makes endless plate spinning to build up your tech/squad untenable. To me, that made the game less re-playable. Mods would probably improve some of that, but that's my 'vanilla/out of the box' experience.

I've personally had 160 hours worth from two and a half play throughs, which isn't bad and I certainly enjoyed the new elements and the game in general.

With WotC, you can usually do the endless plate-spinning.
