Fix for crashes during mission load.

I hope this will help someone.
Since I started playing WOTC I was experiencing constant crashes almost every time when loading new mission, or sometimes when loading geospace save. I tried everything suggested in FAQ topic, even did clean re download / reinstall of entire game. Nothing helped, mods or no mods. I had to start a new campaign three times because I was stuck for example on Black Site mission.
I was playing on maxed setting, so I started changing options to maybe find a possible culprit.

What fixed ALL crashes for me was ridiculously simple: changing texture detail from "Maximum" to "High".

This didn't work for me. The game was crashing even at minimal settings. What did help was the file verification even though the game was freshly installed. Go figure.

The solution only delays the crash. I changed the details from max to min, and it simply took longer to crash while or after loading a game save. Btw, I didn't have this problem until I upgraded my AMD's graphic driver to 21.3.1.

It's under game properties. But don't bother it never has any effect. People always say to do it so they sound smart to themselves.

I was having the problem where the game would crash when;
1) sometimes when loading a save.
2) every 2nd mission I tried to launch. The logo would stop spinning and the game would freeze.

Some of these crashes were hard crashes that required power cycling the computer. Some times the computer complained about a lack of memory.

My PC was above all recommended stetting's. Windows 7. 16Gb of Ram. No mods. no applications opened in the background.

Changing texture detail from "Maximum" to "High" completely fixed the issue. Thank you for your post.

What didn't fix the issue.
1) Deleting the config file and re-verifying the game file.
2) disconnecting a secondary monitor.
3) reducing the number of save files.
4) moving the location of save files
5) Not running in full screen mode.
6) disabling anti-aliasing
