And best proof is to try it by yourself ;)

nope, they are immune. give ranger mindshield and send them close, he will try to mind control and fails! it seems he goes for the closest one consistantly.
also there is a skirmisher card called "feedback" which does damage to psi casters if the target your soldiers

if you get him on your first retaliation mission he can be troublesome for rookies. legendary/ironman that is.

Never ever play Ironman on freshley published games until some patches are out. Keep your self from savescumming if you will have an ironman experience and load only older saves if you loose your game due to a bug!
