XCOM 2
Lost Shadowkeeper
I haven't played XCOM2 in a while, and I was wondering if there are known bugs with the hunter weapons and LW2? Because I'm playing another run through before WotC, and LW2 is the only real new addition to my game.

But I was changing the load out on a Sharpshooter, giving him a Nanoscale vest, and when I did that, it reverted me back to my basic pistol. But when I go to switch back to Shadowkeeper, it tells me only one pistol per soldier.

I think I added tracer rounds to him too.

Is this just a function of me not being able to add better rounds? Or is this some glitch I dont' know about?

Shadowkeeper isn't even listed under weapons anymore. It's listed under accessories, like where you pick frag grenades and whatnot.

UPDATE: Strangely enough, I'm able to give the Shadowkeeper to my Ranger. And my Grenadier.

And when I try to "drop" my pistol in the loadout screen, it tells me there are x6 pistols. Every time I click the drop button, it tells me there are more pistols.

I'm really confused now. I think this bug affected previous saves as well.

No
Long war 2 made pistols accessories
They are no longer secondary weapons

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh.

Ok, so how do I get rid of my pistol on my Sharpshooter and give him the Shadowkeeper back? Because it won't let me drop the pistol, and on my sharpshooter, the pistol falls under secondary weapon still.

It literally won't let me give him the shadow keeper as an accessory, because he has a pistol for a secondary weapon.

In fact, SHadow keeper was listed as a secondary weapon and accesssory when I gave him the ceramic plating. I just thought it was a glitch that it showed up twice and didn't think anything of it. Until now when I can't give himt he shadow keeper.

That might be a glitch
Since the shadow keeper should be just an accessorie

If you have no other active mods aside from long war 2 installed I suggest you take some screenshots and go to pavonis interactives website and report the bug there

There are some mods. But they didn't cause this problem before. Not that that doesn't mean they aren't. But I don't think I have any mods affecting weapons.

But thanks.

Pistols are items, you should be able to just press the little x at the top right of the normie pistol. Or use that mod that allows you to collect all utility items.

When I click the X, it doesn't remove it, it just gives me more pistols.

It says I have x6 pistols now, instead of "infinite" pistols. Everytime I click the x, more get added.

Could be a mod conflict, but you could try flushing your configs.

So, I was having problems with my Haven Management. Apparently, that aspect of LW2 wasn't working at all. So I gave up and just restarted the game completely. Now, Haven is working perfectly fine.

Apparently, I started a game in Vanilla and then later loaded it in LW2, and that caused all sorts of glitches. LW2 doesn't seem to load every time for some reason.

Anyway, hopefully this fixes the pistol/sharpshooter issue. If and when I get to that point, I'll update.

Thanks for all the help though.

Yeah, adding mods to an already existing save usually doesn't work all that well unless it's UI mods for example.

How can you be so sure?

Eventually a mod you subscribed hasn' been updated, isn't compüatible to LW2, could cause conflicts or you add/remove some and didn't reverted the configs?

If you just have the basic LW2 overhaul this described bug with your pistol shouldn't appear bcs those are, as you already know, accessories wich aren't categorized as secondary weapons.

It is not known which additional mods you are using or used in the past.

I don't know if your actual LW2 campaign is already messed (you mentioned playing vanilla and loaded an LW2 save) and/or you are in the beginning of a campaign.

If so, I suggest to check your subscribed mods if they could add a conflict. A recommendation is to get The Alternative Mod Launcher (just google it). It shows any conflict within your mods. Chck mod descriptions in the Workshop.

Additional when you add/remove mods always delete the config folder in
/user/pcname/documents/mygames/Xcom2/xcom2game. Those files are altered by mods and even unsubscribed some changes could still last in those files

Yeah, you have to start a new campaign with LW2. You can't add it to an existing one. There's just too much changed.
Mr Critterfur Jun 24, 2017 @ 11:13am
I didn't add a mod to an existing game. I started a new game, with LW2 loaded, but it didn't run as an LW2 game.

I've noticed that every so often, when I load XCOM2, it says new game, and not LW2. I thought I was running LW2. I assumed it just ran by default from the pre load menu. Apparently I was wrong.

I didn't add something to an existing game. I just thought I was running LW2, but I wasn't. Everything is working fine now.

No. I started a new game. Under the impression it was LW2. I was wrong. Because later, when I ran the game again, the "new game" button now said LW2. I thought nothing of it, because I didn't realize it changed, and just loaded the game I had started the night before thinking it was LW2.

Apparebtly it wasn't. I didn't add LW2 to an old game. I thought I was running LW2 the whole time because I didn't know the new game button changed.
SamBC Jun 24, 2017 @ 1:02pm
It's understandable that people thought you started a game and then added LW2, given you said this:
