Advent Datapad and Alien Data cache, worth researching or sell on Black market?
So yeah wondering if it is really worth devoting time out of your research schedule to decript datapads or whether you are better off selling them on the black market both saving time and gaining a decent amount of supplies in the process?

Advent Datapad currently selling for 80, alien data cach selling for 78. What do you usually get if you research?

There's quite a lot of variation, due to randomness and, I think, some kind of ramping up due to campaign progression.

It might also vary with difficulty.

Anyway, normally I research them fairly late in the campaign on Legend, and see values of 70-90 for pads and 100-120 for caches, or something of that order, going off the top of my head.

That is worth a lot more than the black market sale price.

Depends on what you need more. I like to buy stuff at the black market (scopes, ressources or faster research), and that needs intel. Thatswhy I do research Datapads and Data more than selling them. But if you are out ofd ressources, then sell them.

(Hint: The three wanted items at the top of the black market selling list are worth three times the normal value. I am mostly fine with selling stuff each month to get enough ressources.)

Are you sure they are worth three times the amount? In my campaigns it's always double.

I thought it would be three times... *looking up the wiki*
"The Black Market will show interest in certain items in XCOM's stock, and will pay more Supplies for these items."
Why do I never find any usefull information if I look in the wiki? xD

Unless you really need the supplies for something really campaign saving and you have no other choice, those two are always better researched for free intel. That free intel can be used to buy more supplies than what you would sell any of those items, or to buy engineer, PCPs, ccontact new regions,...

I always have more problems with intel than supplies.
