Can't get research done quickly enough
First tier weapons, 30 days. Even with mostly flawless missions. Quality suggestions?

Get more scientist and a laboratory

Scientists helps with reducing research process. Building a laboratory decreases research time depending on the scientists that are stationed there.

It is a slow thing. Not like you are really hurting - flawless missions and all. You concentrate on expanding the network, building your income base. Not much point researching better guns if you can't afford them.

Scientists... diminishing returns. And building a lab when you are likely pressed for power and room is rather bad investment. Did black market pop up yet? You can pick up deals to cut certain research in half. Also can get lucky on a hack in a mission and cut current research tine in half.

Build a lab? I have enough trouble building power, and the coms (for contacting the resistence). Oh well. Thx. Black market? Yes. But whats safe to sell in my inventory? Most stuff I have no idea if its valuable 'later.'

You won't get an enormous amount selling to the Black Market, but here's what you corpses you can sell:

As for anything else, just sell whatever you don't plan to use.

Those are the worst things you could possibly spend intel on.

Yeah, havent ever used it once ever since I started playing I think. I just cant bring myself to spend intel my boys and girls sweat and bled and faught for on cutting research time. Never once in any run did I ever build a lab, and ive never even bought a scientist. I did by engineers but very rarely.

If u never used scientists, how did you get higher tier weps, armor. research time is extremely long?

Never said I didnt use scientists. I said I didnt buy them via black merket, spending intel on them.

You get them as mission rewards.

You free vips which are scientists often times.

That is the only strat I ever used to get scientists and there was never a problem with not having enough to do the research. What is important is to know what to research and when. If you delay important stuff then that can snowball.

Yes, I do get scientists. After the first one, the rest are idle - and no place to put them to research. and I never have time to do a lab - lucky enough to get coms, workshop / gremlins, yada.
Buckaroo Banzai Feb 2, 2019 @ 12:39pm
Doing "Flawless" missions does not speed up research. Only more scientists or a lab, a special perk can increase speed. Scientists are never idle. If you have them and they are not assigned to a specific room, they are doing general research and speed up the current project. If you have 2-3 of them doing such general research, that's probably good enough. If something is taking a long time to research, maybe consider smaller steps and going for a lesser goal that is faster to get. I have built the labs sometimes, but usually I run out of things to research by end game, and it takes me longer to build the more critical facilities that are needed in the short run.

Scientists don't need to be staffed for them to do research. Staffing them in a research lab makes them better, but isn't necessary for them to have an effect.
Also workshops are horrifyingly bad wastes of money and space.
Scorrp10 Feb 2, 2019 @ 3:33pm
Lab essentially makes one scientist work as two. Or two as four when upgraded. Which is really just a slight increase in speed.
Intel for research speed up... normally no, but occasionally it makes sense. But just saying, if you are rolling flawless missions, you are not in a dire need of upgrades.
ElanaAhova Feb 2, 2019 @ 4:06pm
OK cool. I misunderstood about scientists just 'there.' Workshop? What about the gremlins you get?
