XCOM 2
Spectre bugged?
Is this a bug? The Spectre cloaked itself and stay invisible and I had to just abandon the mission. Never seen one do this before....WTH

It's not a bug. Spectres have the Vanish ability to conceal themselves, like the Assassin's ability. How many turns did you wait though? I find it odd that the Spectre would vanish and never appear again, eventually he should attack you.
In any case, when a Spectre vanishes, you need to move your soldiers around to reveal him. He'll be revealed once you manage to flank him.

It was strange because I have seen them vanish before. Basically he appeared with a group of muton and vanished immediately. I killed all the mutons and forgot he was there. I went a few turns moving around before I was like OK wth... Used my specialist scan and revealed him halfway across the map. I wasn't able to kill him and he vanished again but I had a soldier bump into him and finish him off.

vanish immidiatly? what difficulty are you playing? on normal, commander and legendary the first thing they do in 99,9999999999999% is to do there copycat thing as first, only in the turn after that they use vanish maybe, if they survive that long. when they use vanish it can happen that they flee the battle area, so it needs a few turns until finding them again.

I am on Commander. I noticed they havent been using shadowbind or whatever its called. Earlier mission yes but lately all they seem to be doing is taking shots and vanishing...

Never caught a spectre actually use Vanish in my recollection.

Then again, I give the high alpha-strike priority, so they generally don't do much.

Now, one weird thing I have seen is that I have killed a couple of spectres with overwatch shots that should have missed due to Lightning Reflexes. And yep, it was the first (and only) overwatch shot taken on it.

It could be the amount of mods most people use that causes enemies to do random things at times. In my current campaign the Spectres have stop using Shadowbind entirely instead prefering to just take their poorly aimed laser shots and stealth.

If you have a Stock on your weapon, its damage still counts with Lightning Reflexes.

Also, if the Spectre can't reach one of your soldier in order to shadowbind then he'll most likely vanish. You can see it happening a lot if you have the Tactical Analysis perk, which gives the enemy pod only one action point instead of two if you revealed them on your turn.
