can't climb ladders!

I searched the discussions but couldn't find an answer: When doing rescue missions, the extract zone is always on a rooftop, but I can't get there. I either have to pick a movement on a floor on the level lower then the roof, or my soldiers run across the room and slide down a pole on the other side. I can never pick a spot in the extraction zone. Turned the screen and tried many angles and many different zoom in and out options..how do I get to the rooftop without running across it and sliding down the other side...there must be a trick to it us newbies don't get,I want to like this game, I have waited to rate it until I find out if I can get help with this.

You dont choose to climb ladders.

You select where you want your trooper to move to and they move there. If they need to use a ladder or a pipe or just a drop off a roof, they will do that.

In order to "climb" a ladder just choose a destination point that means you will end up on the roof. You will see from the trail on the gui what scenery the trooper will use to get up.

If the game detects that an extraction point is unreachable it will move it.

If you wish to move the extraction point yourself (not always avaiable) you have a button to do this but it takes time to reposition.

i have tried to walk to the extraction zone, but it doersn't work, they just run over the roof and slide down a pole or something on the other side. slecting a tile in the extraction xone is never an option.

You have to use the mouse wheel to change which floor your camera is looking at in order to give orders to move onto a higher level.

just press the F key once (or more if you need to send your unit above the second floor)

If you cant go to the roof because you blew away the ladders/pipes then toss a grande on the dropzone to blew it away, then you will get another one in another location.
