♥♥♥♥ off, why did i lose a contact for retreating, come on.

Unconscious soldiers can be woken with Revival Protocol. Otherwise, no.

It gets a turn every time you do something because the alien rulers are ludicrously overpowered and intended to be so. You are also intended to use the Alien Hunter weapons (Frost Bomb in particular, but also the Axe and the Bolt Caster) to fight it because they'll delay them for multiple actions and let you attack (and the Axe has a free action to chuck it at them, which doesn't trigger a reaction)

You lost a contact for retreating because that's what happens if you leave a Retaliation mission before it's completed.

Please tell me if i get that region back that bloody thing goes away? Since all my best people are gone I need to get that black sight or my games pretty much over.

Until you kill it it has a chance to appear in any mission you take part in, anywhere in the world.

However you're not going to get jumped by it for trying to contact the region again or anything like that. But you can't avoid it by not contacting that region either, it has nothing to do with the region.

Screw that game im done with it, seriuosly. Why is it so impossible to get good weapons now. Im vsing the best troops with medium level ♥♥♥♥♥. Even leveling takes way longer.

The alien ruler DLC works better in WotC as there is he option so the rules will only appear on those facility bombing missions and it will also warn you before you accept the mission.

But if you play vanilla then dont do the first mission with the viper untill you are ready for them.

I'll expand on what Fitcher said: When starting a new game, you have the option to enable or disable the alien hunters mission. It may seem counterintuitive, but you'll want to turn that mission on. If you turn it off, it only turns off the story mission, but not the actual rulers. By leaving the mission active, you can just not scan it (because scanning the one after getting the AH weapons triggers the mission).

As for your soldiers being unconscious, revival protocal is the only way to wake them up. However, the next best thing is to give your soldiers mindshields, which prevents them from being knocked out. (I'm honestly kind of surpised I don't see more mention of them. Are they not normally talked about or do I just not look hard enough? Probably the latter.)

Another thing to note about the rulers is that (and I may be wrong here) their apperance is fairly predictable. If I'm correct, they show up every other mission. You can use that knowledge to better prepare your soldiers. I think rulers also flee when you remove a bar of their health or so. On the plus side, they never heal.

they also can be executed with repeaters.

generally speaking a reaper with banish a scope, an expanded mag and a repeater. 7 shots 20% chance to execute each shot.

That's XCOM, baby.

Get used to that feeling of rage BTW. I just lost a soldier to a mind-controlled Advent zombie. She was already on low health and in stasis (so impossible to move to safety) so I killed the controlling sectoid with one of my three active soldiers (another one was unconscious, so yeah...). Next alien turn the advent priest takes over the mind control of the zombie (with no cool-down of any kind) and with stasis removed, my soldier took a fatal hit.

Even when you try to do everything right, mistakes get made and things go downhill fast. I ended up completing the objective but evacuating and failing the mission because there was no way to kill the final Advent pod that I knew was somewhere on the map (it appeared on my last turn as I evacuated my soldiers, carrying the unconscious one to safety). Second month, ironman Legend.

You should focus on a specialist right away. With boltcaster as early weapon they lvl up fast and you have a healer.

I kept everything when restarting a new game. Felt like that one was just going down hill (hence the rage). Though i'm playing with that double the timer option that you pick at the start. I can honestly say the game feels so much better and more fun. I know its their to stop overwatch but lets be real, that thing doesn't help anyway haha.
Did they wake up as zombies.
