Report a translation problem
that what i'm referring to when I do that It just stays there saying to connect controllor even thought it is plugged in it lets you press serting buttons on the controllor but it still just sits there and dosen't matter how long you leve it it still sticks at connecting

I would also like to add that I only have this problem with the original XCOM 2 game ( the "vanilla" version ) and not the War Of The Chosen expansion pack. If you have WOTC installed, when you launch the game you will have to select either XCOM 2 original or XOM 2 with WOTC. When I select WOTC there is no problem using a wired XBox One controller or a Steam Controller with a gamepad configuration. But when I select the XCOM 2 base game from the launch menu, then the gamepad controller is not recognized after changing from Mouse input to Controller input in the options menu exactly as the OP mentioned above.
This makes no sense at all. What a mess. This game has a lot of small bugs, but this a pretty large one.
thank you for the reply and I only have the orignal so it must be a simple bug on that and if there aware of it even better at least there a hope for a furure update and it just mean I can get back to playing it i'll look in to the link the now thanks again
