If yes, did you do the Blacksites with the warning of an strong enemy?
If no, then you should do one of them.
If any answer is different, the it may be mods ;)
And if you integrated the DLCs, the weapons and Spark are there from the start and no storymission are active.
first playthrough on veteran was no dice so i ditched the campaign
I am on second play though now.
on the new game launcher, I unchecked the DLC integration box and then individually checked each DLC box (alien hunters and shen's last gift) mostly because I wanted to see the nests sequences but the game hamfisted me into an odd form of integration under 'war of the choson' anyways wherein the mission to unlock sparks did pop (and Im very glad it did, was fun and nice narrative)
BUT the rulers started showing up as random inserts almost on a rotational duty cycle with the choson. (which is supposed to happen with integration of the dlc under wotc) and I was mildly disappointed to not have a longer, narrative route to follow in this case.
However, it did happen one time where the archon king was present during one of those capture / eliminate the vip random missions. and luckinly he was already hurt from a previous engagement because the choson hunter then popped while i was en route to the extraction point with 3 turns to spare.
ive found the alien hunters gear has been extremely handy in hella fun. in persuit of the choson and the sparks is an absoultely wonderful unit (until he gets killed!!
1/. Enable the alien hunters DLC in game and also tick the integrate option. This makes the weapons available from day 1, you get no intro or narrative missions. The hunters are guarding ramdom alien bases. If you fail to kill them when they show up they will apear again as part of any mission. They will not show up at the same time as a chosen. I assume this is what the OP has done, and just hasnt attacked a relevent base yet.
2/. Enable the alien hunters DLC in game and dont tick the integrate option. This gives the radar contacts, story and narrative missions.
3/. Disable the alein hunters DLC in game. They will just pop up randomly when they feel like it.
4/. to disable alien hunters entirely, unitck it in steam.
You see similar behavior with shens last gift.
If you enable in game and choose to integrate then it disables all the story fmv and narrative missions. you can build sparks as soon as you have a proving ground.
if you dont integrate then you get the fmv , story and narrtive. but be warned. its a much longer mission than any other in game and has a big impact on tiredness.
