War of the Chosen: Soldier Bonds
The Soldier Bonds thing seems cool, but I'm a little unsure as to how to most effectively use it? Are there certain class pairings that it works best with? Can a soldier have more than one bond mate? Is it possible to change a soldier's bond mate?

its often best for soldiers that are more likely to be close to one another to be bond mates, as alot of the passive benefits only trigger when the units are adjacent to one another, sharpshooters in particular are great in pairs as they benefit from extra aim while standing beside one another, sort of like actual fire teams.

Their isnt any particular bonus for any classes being paired together, all bonds offer the same benefits regardless of what classes are involved.

and lastly, a soldier can only have one bond mate, and cant change it... technically... one of them has to no longer be participating in the fight against the aliens to have the other get a new bond mate, so either the undesired party must either die or be dismissed to changed the desired unit.

they arent too significant in play though, but its not worthless by any means, as i said, sharpshooters are most likely to benefit from the passive side of it since they are rather stationary units, but all other classes are gonna rely more largely on the active side of the benefits.

One thing thats pretty good though is that if one of the bond mates panic, moving the other beside them will immediately calm them down, so for that ability alone it can be pretty useful, helps to deal with constant panic triggers in particularily lengthy missions.

Do they need to be next to each other as in the next square? That's one of the things that's tripped me up a bit. After playing the first Long War, I've gotten into the habit of spreading my soldiers out to minimize the damage from grenades.

I haven't done it yet, but I've been thinking of paring a sharpshooter with an assault or vanguard biotic. (I have the biotics mod. The Mass Effect fan in me had to try it. XD ) As I understand it, there's an aim bonus at tier 2 and the teamwork thing doesn't have to be within line of sight.

With level 2 bonds they gain bonus aim if the pair shoots the same enemy(I think it is +10 aim),however if they are next to each other they gain I think+20aim and they also cure eachother from most mental effects like panic, mind control.
