Nope, I've done it twice now, and yet the game still breaks for me. I have no idea what's causing it either.
I've also tried this, and I've tried it with every base, and the game still breaks every time.
I tried that as well, and yet I still get intercepted, and the mission still breaks.
Yeah, I tried that, but it still doesn't seem to help. I think because the UFO is part of the Chosen's Hunt for me that it's mandatory that I get taken down. Now matter what I do, I get shot down on August 23 at 3:00 AM. I've tried turning off all of my mods, lowering my graphics from Maximum to Minimum, loading back previous saves, and so-on. Honestly at this point, I've all but given up. From all the research I've done, it seems like this is VERY common in Vanila, WOTC, LW2, and Modded, yet the devs have yet to release a fix for it, and no one has been able to find a defenitive one. My very last option is going back about a real days worth of progress, and seeing if I can take the Chosen down before being hunted. However, that's not a permanent solutions, as Dark Event UFOs, and other Chosen may still have the same effect.
Are you using any Mods in WOTC?
They are aware of the issue
https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/216271958-XCOM-2-Known-Issues
I am sure its not the only issue they are having. I would assume they worked on a newer version of the RE (RE 4 plus whatever now with RE 5 coming) using the original source code and they may be having an issue.
I would go directly to the source. Contact Firaxis directly and their support team. See what they say.
We’re all well aware of this, and I can assure you, I know far more than just the basics of programming and coding. However, this is happening in Vanilla games too, without mods, as stated in the previous comments. It’s an issue with Unreal Engine and the devs, not mods.
I'm blaming them for ♥♥♥♥. Not only have I done my research, and quite a bit of it, I've played the game with 0 mods, and it has still happened, and there are many documented cases of it. Most have mods, yes, but there are still numerous accounts on Reddit, and XCOM Forums, and the Steam forums of it happening in Vanilla, something I have experinced first-hand. So instead of accusing people of creating excuses, actually spend a few hours doing some thorough research.
