Report a translation problem
This mod helps alot. But if you turn off Bradford completely the game will hang up when you get to the codex mission. This link is for WOTC, but I'm sure there is one for Vanilla XCOM 2.
The worst part is that the game has multiple instances of the characters joking about how they talk too much and how annoying that must be for you. Which means the devs knew that the constant spamming of dialogue would be annoying, and instead of tailoring the dialogue more they just put "in character jokes" about it instead, which is essentially telling the player to go ♥♥♥♥ themselves.
It's wierd as hell to me personally, I can't wrap my head around why you'd do that.
