Not all settings are for your computer alone but many settings inside the engine maybe able to increase the general improvement as stuttering often occurs when the program is underperforming and not because it is demanding, it rather the opposite the game is less demanding than other games and that causes stuttering.
Although you play alot more demanding games (i do too). 99.9% of them dont have the mod support that xcom 2 does. The "stuttering" generaly only occurs for me the first time the game loads in mod assets. With most customization mods, these are not quite as optimized or streamlined as the official content so they take a bit of loading.
We shall see
Apparently WoTC is hogging up system memory. The game starts somewhere above 2 gigs of memory then after time it starts hogging up more and more. Just before my game crashed this last time around, the game was showing that it was using around 12 gigs of ram.
This is no bueno.
Even reverting drivers, the video driver is still crashing as well. Though, no where near as quick as it was before. I think the memory issue for the game is related.
Once more:
- System is beyond recommended stats
- Verified files - then Reinstalled the game
- Rolled drivers back 5 and 3 patches back.
- Memory is good
- Video Card is good
- Video card is set optimal (even as some posts suggested but didn't make any different)
Thanks for the input!
Also I heard that Xbox controllers cause this, so if you use it, you have to unplug
ini file will likely be in this folder:
C:\Users\<Your Name>\Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config\XComEngine.ini
Sliv,
I turned my pagefile up to 64gigs and so far, the blue screen hasn't happened but I think it's still too early to tell.
I'm still getting the driver error where it's telling me that the driver shut down prematurely. This go round, it's happened twice in one mission.
I rolled back drivers a good ways back but no luck. Same issue. I'm bringing my drivers back up to date.
I did a series of stress tests overnight on my video card, memory and cpu and everything came back normal.
I checked the temps before, durring and after and everything looks normal there as well.
I even took apart the DMP file for the previous bluescreen and it's giving me a processor error so it's definitely doing something to my system. However, this is the ONLY game any of this is happening to.
To be honest, I am at my wits end trying to figure out what's happening here. I'm about ready to give it up. It's so frustrating. The enjoyability factor is fading fast with every mission. I just can't understand why this game and no other.
