Avatar project full means game lost?

Hey,

i got a very good round so far but the avatar project is nearly finished. I focused on building energy and a communication center, but i dont think i will make it until the last 2 points of the avatar project are done.

Is the game over when the avatar project is finished? It would really suck to lose because of that. I'm already working on all that matters, but the progress was way to fast. In one month it raised like 6 points and i was completely overwhelmed and surprised by this.

I would love to continue my round, i just need something like ~20-25 days (building communication center, get connection, start mission) in game.

When the Avatar project gets to full points it starts a countdown, but I am not sure how long that is. Maybe 20 days, 22 days, something like that. If that countdown reaches zero you loose.

Unfortunately yup... once the avatar project is complete, time is up and the Elders win.
Have you bought the WotC DLC yet?
That has the Resistance Ring which you can use to great effect to minimise and even reduce the Avater progress to a permanent state of zero.
There are multiple covert missions you can order from there to reduce avatar progress by two andthe missions last up to 6 days on average.
Then there's one of the Resistance standing orders: Sabotage which will automatically reduce Avatar progress by one at the turn of every month on payday.
For this if nothing else makes it worth getting, but there's so much more content I really don't have the time to list it all here ;)

@grapphiehoeker I am playing WotC right now. But i'm not quite sure what you mean. ^^ I don't have the resistance ring yet. The avatar project just surprised me because it was starting and in the same second got 6 points or something. So i started to work against that, but i had to clean the room first, get some money, but another power supply and build a communication center (which i'm doing right now). Unfortunatly there are only 2 more points left and i dont think i got the time to stop them. I pushed all my engineers into that but i dont think it will be enough. I just need a few more days!

When the timer starts does it go away if you destroy a facility or something?

Yes, the timer stopps when the Avatar project looses at least one point. To make that happen you can raid a facility, complete a covert operation in the resistance ring or complete a quest like skulljacking an officer or winning certain story missions.

Uuuuuh. So that means i got a little extra time. Nice! With this information i think i have enough time to finish my buildings and get the contact to other countries. :)
