Great thing because enemies will waste their turn trying to use mind control on you soldiers
In WotC, it is hardly a concern at all. This finale has never been easier.
With one of each of the Resistance hero types you can control the whole arena with ease.
The Templar in particular is awesome. He'll make short work of any mind controlling imps. Even the lack lustre Skirmisher, when fully promoted is very useful and his grapple makes him very versatile. And of course, the Reaper can play an excellent role as a spotter and provide squad sight in order to locate the Avatar wherever he may try to hide.
Use a psi op with an Archon king armour and you can kill the avatar 3 times very quickly.
So, I would say that a mind shield would be a waste of a slot. It's more of an early/mid game item and not necessary in the end game. It would be far more useful to use some venom/flame ammo or an acid grenade - anything that can cause a debilitating debuff is very effective against all psi types.
or stasis will break mind control.
so its not something people generally waste a slot on late game.
Also you have your own avatar with his own mind control
