Anyone having issues with mods not loading?
Have verified integrity, uninstalled and reinstalled every single mod, and still get the message along the lines of "unable to confirm which mods have been enabled" before bringing up the totally vanilla menu screen

Hi Everyone,

There was an issue that was fixed around August 7 around ~6am PDT that should've resolved most issues. If you are still experiencing issues where mods are not appearing and you have verified the integrity of your game files ( see https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335 ), then please create a support ticket so we can get your Steam logs.

If you've manually deleted files in the steamapps\workshop directory, then things can get out of sync with the data stored in the appworkshop_268500.acf file, which caches away information on what mods Steam thinks are installed. In that case, you may need to delete that file and restart your Steam client.

So i decided to clean up my mods folder yesterday just before the big storm of issues, and redownload a bunch of them. However, now i only have 25/45 mods downloaded, and can't seem to get the last 20 or so to go through. I've tried to unsub/resub, restart steam, all the normal stuff short of redownloading the whole game. The files still won't download, and i can't figure out why. Is there any way to remind steam what i'm subscribed to and redownload everything? Removing a mod doesn't seem to work for me, because steam seems to think it's already downloaded the item, but it's not showing up in my mod list.

I had the same problem the first time this happened, but I was able to force the missing mods to redownload via the Alternate Mod Launcher.

@Comrade Magician

If you're using the Alternate Mod Launcher, it could be that those mods have become marked as hidden. Go to settings in the AML and check "Show hidden mods".

That's the thing. They're not hidden, they're just flat out not downloading. For example, I'm subscribed to Grimy's Loot for WotC. But, if i look in my workshop folder in steam, there's no such folder downloaded. If i unsub and then resub to Grimy's, i get a 0 kb download.

Is there a way to do that that i'm not seeing? If i click on the dropdown that says to resub to mods, it just does the ~25 or so i have downloaded, not the ones that aren't showing up. I've never had to use AML before, but it seems pretty straightforward.

In short, Steam ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. It's not just XCOM2, workshop on all other games are broken too.

For me, XCOM 2 mods weren't coming back immediately after the fix, but when I unsubscribed and re-subscribed a mod that caused Steam to download all the other mods along with it,

Changing your subscriptions should trigger a check with our back-end servers to see if your content is up-to-date. Restarting the Steam Client will also trigger a check. Normally this check happens every 2-4 minutes in any case.

But but XCOM2 is the only game I own!!

There was a steam update, that changed a lot! Downloaded may be 30GB of mods today! I think its was steam patch problem!
I had hoped my issue had the same cause, but my infinite loading is still happening. And if I try to get support I get taken to a page that tells me to contact the developers etc. Any advice?

Same here, I loaded up all my mods say <unnamed mod> so manually selected all my voice mods before trying anything more taxing like LW2 and nope none of them loaded.
My mods load, but the missions do not. I can only play Gatecrasher.

Seriously, not again... this happened back in January the only thing I could play was the Tactical Legacy Pack.

getting some mods and not others. The hell is going on?
Comrade Magician Aug 10, 2019 @ 3:11am
Well, i finally got my mods to download. I had to go through and manually check for the mods that weren't downloaded but were subscribed, mark those down (i used the favorite function to mark them), and then unsub to those mods and wait about 5~10 minutes. Afterwards, i subscribed one at a time, waiting for the download to finish before grabbing the next. I might have been able to get the whole lot at once, but i wasn't about to test it yet. However, it's working now, for me at least!
