XCOM 2
WOTC multiple reapers
Hey fellas, quick question. Been a while since I played WOTC, so here goes..

I’m aware you need your faction influence high to get a 2nd reaper, but do you actually need to kill the assassin to get that covert op to recruit one? I’m already at high for them, but I just wasn’t sure.

I enjoy playing all 3 classes but having A reaper is essential for me. That way, I don’t have to train then respec scout rangers and just train assault ones. Thanks!

No, you don't have to kill a chosen to get that covert op.

Seems rare but I got it last night very early game before magnetic research. Of course I needed faction influence to do it so was greyed out but there.

Did you start at the Reapers base? The faction you start with you have a 2 soldier limit, the other factions 1. I don't know why...

there is no limit.

the covert operation shows up if you don't have a reaper in your list.

so if you do a council mission, let your first reaper get captured. the next month you get a recruit reaper mission, if you wait until the end of the month, you can recruit the reaper mission so that it doesn't resolve until the following month. because when the following month starts you still don't have a reaper, you can recruit a third reaper, then eventually rescue the first reaper on a council mission down the road.

can be done with any of the faction hero types. though I don't normally bother, and just dismiss and go with 2 of them.

Yeah, was planning on doing that with my skirmisher but then it’s too much of a hassle. Also, having both reaper and skirmisher on my B team makes it like I’m just playing my A team. A has the 4 base classes + skirmisher and reaper, while B has the 4 + templar and reaper. Obviously plug and play depending on the situation.

Lucky you. I’m tempted to wait another month and get the recruitment mission. But then again, I hate the assassin, so I’ll probably wait and if it doesn’t work out probably just kill him.

I’ll keep that in mind for my next play through, already got my 2nd reaper. I’m happy and contented

No, there is a limit, that is you exploiting oddities in the game mechanics to bypass the limit. Those are not the same thing.
