Timeline, continuity wise you should start the mission AFTER you've met a MEC for the very first time. Or hang back until you've met a certain robotic enemy before you do the mission because it kinda doesn't make sense when Bradford knows what the end mission boss is when you haven't even encountered one yet outside of this mission.
Lily's ability's are out right broken for this mission for a reason
she has no limit on any of her abilitys aside from turn limit cooldowns
and grenadiers are helpful for shready armor for your sniper to help blast holes in The final bosses armor
And "it kinda doesn't make sense when bradford knows what the end mission boss is when you haven't even encountered one yet"
Um yes it does
YOU Haven't encoutnered one but remeber the aliens have taken over the planet for 20 years
Not to mention Tygen and bradford mention enemy names the second you meet them
they obviously have plenty of experince with the alien strike force
Tygen could have easily told him what the boss in the dlc was
or heck he could have met one before
Once you do a MEC breakdown and run BS protocol project, doing this mission with BS ammo, emp grenades and extra spec with M2 gremlin and a few more ranks on your troops is real easy.
You totally missed the point :P
So okay, let's say you did the mission as soon as you get the mission and encountered that end boss I mentioned. Now fast forward to when you are supposed to meet one of it in the campaign, usually around the Alien Forge mission. Or by around June and you hear Lily tell you about how dangerous it is. Now does it make sense that lily would not remember encountering one of it earlier and Bradford telling you about it earlier? :P
No you phrased it compleatly diffrently
You said It doesn't make sense when bradford knows what the end mission boss is when you haven't encountered it yet
And then you rephrased it to
It doesn't make sense that everybody forgot you encountered one in the Shens last gift DLC
if you encounter one later
Ah to hell with spoilers, seeing as you're to dense to see the point :P
OK let me simplify:
Do SLG mission in April. At the end of the mission you encounter a Sectopod. Then you continue the campaign, then in June the game introduces the Sectopod for the first time. Continuity breakage.
Actually doing the mission BEFORE you meet MECs for the first time also kinda breaks co0ntinuity, seeing as Lily usually tells you about MECs when you do the Black site vial mission or on a mission after the first retaliation (where Fqaceless are introduced). But because you did SLG ahead of the proper campaign timeline the game assumes you (the player/commander) already know what MECs and Sectopods are even before you properly met one in the first place. Sure an oversight like this is fine for an XCOM EU player playing XCOM 2, but assuming a newbie to the game knows of something they haven't seen yet before is kinda asking too much.
If it's still too hard for you to comprehend...
Let's say you were reading a nursery rhyme like "Jack and Jill" for the first time. We all know that Jack and Jill climbed a hill to fetch a pail of water, but Jack suddenly slipped, fell and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after. Now let's say the story was told this way...
"Jack and Jill came tumbling after the pail that broke its crown up the hill"
... now does that make sense?
AGAIN I SAY THE WAY YOU PHRASED IT WAS WEIRD
the way you phrased it
Or the way i read it Was that bradford shouldn't know about the sectopod at all Since you haven't meet one yet
The miscommunication was how you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ phrased the damn Sentence
IF you had said
They tell you about the sectopods twice breaking contanuity
That would have been better
Though i don't know why The alien introductions arn't shut off with beginner V.O.'s to stop things like this what ever
DON'T BLAME ME FOR MISUNDERSTANDING THE POINT WHEN THE POINT IS and i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quote Part of your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sentence it's self "kinda doesn't make sense when Bradford knows what the end mission boss is when you haven't even encountered one yet outside of this mission."
you know like it doesn't make sence that bradford knows what a sectopod is when you haven't encountered one
And not
They are breaking continuity by introducing a sectopod twice
just say
"It doesn't make sense that people forget you've already met a sectopod once before when it reapperes later on"
OH also
if you do wait that long it makes the mission compleatly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ easy
making me suspect it was suppose to be taken on when you had teir one or teir 2 gear
