To Scan Resistance Base /w Intel upgrade active, or to go to a 7day investigation for Intel???
So im currently really in need for intel to knock some avatar progress out, im at 200 and i need 240, Basically my qeustion is how much do the investigations always give? more then Reistance bases slow paced gathering? 7 days seems like alot tho if its only gonna be lke 50-70 intel

someone tell me which one is more beneficial <3333333333333333333333333

260 seems like a really odd number to need, how did that come about?

Anyway, off the top of my head, I think the HQ scan gives 4-8 intel every 2 days (or every 1 day if you have the 50% scanning bonus from a hack reward), whereas an intel resistance rumor scan takes 6-8 days and yields 40-50 intel on completion. That latter figure may actually scale as the campaign progresses, I can't remember for sure.

In short it is always better to do a rumor scan than intel scan at base, so long as you will see it to completion and don't just need the odd 8 or 10 intel to reach a goal.

i had a 5% chance to increase the intel needed on all "Contacts" by 50% and ofc somehow 5% happened, but atleast i completed that mission....maybe it wasnt worth completing lol

some really bad hack basically

I think you must be using some mod I'm not familiar with, I've never seen that hack penalty.

Seriously bad luck though, that penalty is nightmarish. Best of luck getting out of the jam you're in!

ETA: Those figures I gave are my memory of vanilla, I'm fairly confident they are right there, but if you do have a mod that's playing with that stuff I can't promise it will be right.

i loaded the game, its actually 240 intel for 6-8 days, idk if thats normal for a "Red contact" with a advent facility on it, but i cant remember if the hack was a 5% chance to Reduce contact costs or increase contact costs, you tell me =P

only mods im running are the intel mod on firing shots, and reduced delays between turns

it was a rookie hacking something to complete the mission, and he was the only one close enough to get to it within the turns needed, so i sent him over...and it was something that had a 5% chance of happening....and somehow it happened O.O cant remember if it was bad or good
your making me want to restart my game if its actually way above what its suppose to be lol >.< cuz i could already be knocking progress down of the avatar project but 9/12 already and the advent facility and contact will be only my 2nd one, so i feel like if that is the case im already pretty far behind where i could be, i mean if this contact was less, i could've already raided this facility....that suuuuuxxxxx

Um, I get the skulljack and attempt to skull mine for 20 INTEL every mission. INTEL rewards from council missions, intel rewards from Guerrilla ops and intel rewards from Loot.

Generally speaking I usually have several pieces of datapads I can burn for INTEL. sell some stuff buy some scientists and burn the intel pads.

but yeah the main way to stay in INTEL is to get 20 INTEL a mission with the skullmine.

Ahh well, in that case I think the numbers I gave you are right. In my own mind I am 100% sure that you'll get more intel scanning a rumor than at the base for the same amount of time in all circumstances.

You should check your dark events for the double intel cost or if you haven't researched and/or built radio towers to reduce the contact cost though, because it shouldn't be due to anything from a mission. When you try to make contact you should be looking at a box that breaks down the cost, saying something like 80x1 for the cost times the distance to the nearest radio tower (80 is the legend cost, it's 40 on commander I think). 240 sounds like you're trying to double leapfrog, which is a super expensive way of doing it.

On the other hand I could be wrong, and you may already know all that. Seems worth checking though, on the off chance. If it's because of missing towers you should consider adjusting tactic to always build a tower instead of leapfrogging, it's way more resource effective.

Either way, best of luck.
yup time to delete all my saves and try again lol >.<
i mean i went for the GTS facility for the 5th unit first instead of the Skulljack stuff
and i went straight for mag weapons
I'd hold off on that delete. GTS first is practically mandatory, you should 100% be building it first. Skulljack for intel is good, but it's not a make-or-break issue, the problem is identifying where this cost of 240 comes from.

What difficulty are you on? On legend it should cost 80 per new region contacted unless you have the double intel costs dark event active (which would make it 160).

What do you see if you bring up this screen on your hologlobe by clicking on the "make contact" thingy?

i mean im okay with restarting it was only like 5 missions and 1 "Make Contact" , cuz obviously somehow i got super screwed with the 240
i know i had the dark event one and i didnt have a radio tower up on the connecting to the region with the red contact
