Can you increase hacking skill with Haywire ability?

I've read that each successful hack increases your hacking stat by 5, but I'm not sure if the Haywire ability is considered a "successful hacking". Is it only limited to environmental hacking?

No.

this is not something in the game. unless you mod it.

only way to increase hacking it to improve your gear or get a +20 hacking score from a quest hack.

WotC allows you to increase hacking slowly with covert ops.

Well, you are either referring to the Vanilla Hack Reward "Enemy Protocol" that, if you get the reward, gives your hacker(man ;P) + 20 on their hacking stat.

Or

you mean the Mod "Hacking +" which gives your soldiers + 5 hacking skill for every successful hack, and +1 for every failed one

Or

you get +hacking stat from WOTC- covert ops as a reward
