WOTC Crash whenever I load a Facility Mission (Blacksite)
Heyas... So LOVE the game (when it works) and would love to actually finish it but as the title says I can't seem to. Here's my problem...

Running the game with the following mods:

…And played the game pretty far with ZERO problems or crashes. Actually got pretty far, was using tier 2 power armor, had killed 2 chosen, had many top rank soldiers and plenty of majors, etc, etc, etc, you get the idea. I even had done a successful Blacksite mission (the first one) obviously to get this far. Then all of a sudden the game crashes whenever I goto attack a new facility. Hmm... okaaayyy. The crash happens every time when the screen is black with the little XCom logo spinning at the bottom right BEFORE it shows the squad in the back of the sky ranger. Then BOOM! Crash and log file... Here's where it gets even worse. If I load a save BEFORE this and try any other mission the game works fine until I of course try and attack another facility. If I load that original save that crashed with the facility mission then ALL missions are hosed and they crash in exactly the same spot.

Perplexing right!? So, before there’s any advice let me say I’ve verified my cache a dozen times and after every crash there seems to be a missing file or 2 it redownloads. I’ve reinstalled the game TWICE completely and even wiped the registry clean as near as I can tell. I unsubscribed to all mods, erased them completely from the workshop folder and then redownloaded them. I’ve re-installed directX, my geforce Drivers, NET framework and anything else the suggestion posts have mentioned in regards to homework. In short, I’ve literally spent a solid 12 – 14 hours on just troubleshooting this that doesn’t include the installation and downloading of the game. I even restarted with a COMPLETELY new game… and guess what… it crashed again in the exact same Facility mission although this time it was the first Blacksite mission.

So I’m screwed. You obviously can’t beat the game when you can’t knock the Avatar time down (I guess I could mod it away) but it is SO WEIRD that every other mission in the game works BUT those facility raid missions. Any ideas or suggestions? I’m like a broken man here just about not willing to go through the same beginning game a third time if this will happen. I LOVE the mods too… so my only choice left would be to try the game without any mods and see if it crashes with those missions there too.

Either way I’m stumped… and bummed. Game is awesome but feel like I’ve wasted a ton of hours with a game I can’t finish.

go into steam. look at the workshop for xcom2.
On the right you can see a button to view your subscribed mods.
Click on the little arrow to re-order the list and choose "order by last updated".

The ones at the top is the most recent ones to be updated, have a look at these and see if others are having problems.

unless your not using steam for mods, then none of the above will help.

You also mentioned a log file. Have you looked at it. You should be able to see what the last few things were the engine was doing before the crash.

I can post the whole logs but didn't wan't to get more spammy than I already am. Thank you in advance for anyone that can help. I'm about to go back to Xcom2 Long War 2 since I never played it and hopefully its stable...lol..but would love to stick with WOTC.

Did you ever find out what the issue causing this was? I'm getting the same crash, my logs look almost identical, any help would be hugely appreciated!
