Seriously, use your OWs generously, even on timed missions. I would suggest specializing a Sharpshooter with Long Watch, Kill Zone, and a Sup. Expanded Mag. for the best results. XCOM has wonky LoS, and the whole "2 square in LoS", compounded by the myopic range of your soldiers means you are better off hunkering them down, provided there are no enemies clearly in LoS.
Pretty much useless, considered you wasted ammo you could had let the pod introduce itself and run to their precious cover and then remove the cover on your turn. In Wotc it's less useful because at raids advent collects boxes before advent moves.
Overwatch doesn't improve with range, consider it because else this happening=

It was a missed shot at range 0 with a pistol in overwatch.
Yeah, this game has lots of stormtrooper syndrome. I got a pic of trying to shoot a stunned guy from 5 meters away with a frackin minigun. 49% chance to hit. K.

The snake is stunned though, so un-moving. I know how the rules work, its just so glaring example of rules being far detached from reality.
You might as well ask - why does everyone stand around waiting for each person to have their turn, or, why is someone like me in charge of saving the earth :p
Ok, I admit, that triggered me until I read the whole thing. Good work
Dude, look - you've stacked everything in the snek's favour. Shooting into high cover with a class that has the worst aim progression using a gun with no accuracy upgrade. Complaining about lack of reality when you're trying to ice-skate uphill is pointless.
