I think should be SITREPs: Low Profile - only soldiers of rank Sergeant or lower are allowed on the mission.

You need to select lower rank soldier for this mission, or pick other mission.

Has anyone successfully done one of those missions - like on Commander?

Yes, later on with proper equipment.

Those lost helped me completed the mission. Ultrasonic Lure was so GREAT!
