Priests need to have their sustain nerfed
After 5 seperate priests sustain on the same mission, this is getting stupid. The fact they can cheat death, freely move the next go and then stasis ur own soldiers is bs. Even more bs is that the stasis persists even after killing the priest.

As I said I beat that mission, rather easily too. I'm just irritated by priests in general still. High hp pool? check. Cheats death? check. Takes a soldier out of the fight with mind control or stasis? yep

Try figting a Spectre that makes your soldier unconcious then duplicate your soldier lol

Stasis is quite temporary and can be negate by resistance order or mind shield compared to unconcious which is permanent unless you got a specialist.

Priest can become a threat if he can buff up one advent trooper and etc.

That's what i'm hoping they do.

If a priest uses stasis, then runs to hiding and uses holy warrior on a full HP anything, you essentially get a free kill on the holy warrior.

I don't see any downsides here.

I find that priests are rather easy. There are a number of ways to remove mind control without killing the priest flash bangs (if I remember correctly), or casting stasis on your own guy. They're more of an annoyance than a threat because stasis sometimes prevents you from finishing a pod in one turn, which makes wiping out a pod much less satisfying.
exactly. high hp pool and cheating death = major nuisance. Just like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ codexes, not threatening just annoying. Like the spectres too.

mind shield does NOT prevent stasis sadly :(

I tend to agree, but only when they show up in multiples.
I've run two missions with the psionic storm sitrep, and both ended badly

The first time I was doing alright until I pulled a pod of two priests. I managed to take them both out, but they both went sustain. The timer was almost spent, so I brought two soldiers in, one in half cover, and one to hack. When they popped out, I missed my overwatch and they slaughtered both soldiers. Then the warlock showed up with a bunch of advent, and I had to evac before I could even hack the chest.

The second time, the assasin showed up, and when I moved to flank her I pulled a pod of three priests. I ended up bitterly losing the whole squad, 3 mind shields, the frost grenade, axe and the bolt caster. My last action was to flashbang them, and they ended up shooting everyone dead.

They're not like sectoids. They have powerful guns, and I hate em...

thats an interesting way to veiw them, they are more like a tougher sectoid, and they do fill the gap in difficulty between sectoids and the top end psionic mobs.

maybe they ( devs ) need to balance it based on that, so they only start appearing once you can insta kill sectoids.

♥♥♥♥ it, i take it all back, they need to nerf these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lol

just had a pod of 2 stun lancers and 1 priest reinforcement drop into a data hack mission ..... funny thing is they marked and dropped straight in on the same turn the moment i hacked the terminal....and to top it off this was the SECOND MISSION.

Yup thats right - 2nd mission on an ironman commander game.....needless to say my team got wrecked and im off to start again....

What are stat increases for holy warrior by the way?

its a 4 point shield, a mobility increase ( 2 tiles ? ) and a 20% aim boost i think. make stun lances so much more fun to deal with because it turns their melee into an almost gauranteed hit and they can move in from further away.

Sounds like a perfect thing for my templar/ranger. Although i guess the soldiers dies when priest dies? Does it mean that Id have to hide him somewhere in the maps corner? Also does holy warrior has any range? And there is no way to cancel it nor to cast it on multiple soldiers from one priest?

the priest dies when you kill the unit under effect from holy warrior, and visa versa.

No idea on range ( i haven't mind controlled one yet )

regards hiding him if you have mind controlled - MC is limited in duration, so you could probably do it, but it might get messy.

no idea to cancel either, it does have a limited duration ( 3 turns iirc ).

Stasis cancels it. Same with MC.

Also holy warrior is a huge opening for you to abuse.

I havent even seen the AI using it smartly. Hell they only used it once and that was after he emerged from sustain, mindmerged with a full hp archon to die to a bladestorm. Instagibbed the archon. Real smart move there.

Set them on fire or poison them, they will die when they get their next turn.
