Two, it unlocks the advanced option when you start a new game, so that you can choose if you want to start with one of the factions and get one of their heroes right off the bat.
I recommend turning it off if you've already played the introduction mission on a previous playthrough.
Thanks for that, yea I restarted few times so was curious if was any side effects of disabling the mission long term.
Otherwise, if you choose one of the Advanced options to start at one of the resistance HQ's, you'll get one of them at the start as part of your squad during the Gatecrasher mission
A very valid point as well, altho the introduction mission is great for a first playthrough, it does seem playing with it off could be more beneficial overall
It's the same case as the tutorial tbh, where you get 1 squadie oppose to 4 (assuming they all survive Gatecrasher)
Sorry but what additional loot? The scientist and Intel? The rewards you can obtain from the replacement mission and covert ops (you can build the resistance ring on day 1) often match it or even surpass it.
Here's what happens instead:
After that I don't think there are any more differences.
Playing Legendary Bronzeman, and yea this mission was nasty, I killed the chosen, but the civillian casualties was too high so the mission failed.
That said I only lost like 11 income to the region, and all my guys was lightly injured, so imo thats was a win in my eyes due to the AP gain, and NOT giving the chosen any intel :-D
This mission would been lot more managable if it wasn't for 2 Faceless, if they wasn't faceless then Reaper could of gone rescuing everyone, but with chosen present, that was not worth the risk of Reaper getting revealed far from the team, exposing herself to easy intel for the assasin.
When I do get the mission in its place, it's from a blank screen.
You need to choose one starting faction on "Advanced Options" when starting a new game. Did you do that?
I'm pretty sure if none are selected it's randomly assigned. Regardless, I did often pick the Reapers out of habit, but no sign of the Reaper HQ.
Maybe it's because I touched the Config INI files in an attempt to give the Avenger more power/resistance contacts, and that somehow changed it.
Or maybe it's because of my OCD habit of keeping the profile.bin file in check, and using it to prevent my Campaign numbers from going exceedingly high.
