I don't know if his name changes somewhere down the line in the game but his name has always been Geist.

The cutscene that introduces the three factions, his name shows up as Geist. Then once you contact the Templars he introduces himself as Geist. Maybe someone messed up?

Why do these Triple-A games always obsess over picking up TV/Movie Actors instead of real Voice Actors.

Movie Actors never bring any life into the character if it's just voice. You could replace any of these "High Profile Movie Actors" with Joe Blow Down the Street, and it wouldn't make a difference.

I think Voice actor pool is very small , look at Tara strong in every kids show, look at the unknown voice actors in xcom a lot are from Wow, Skyrim and Dragon age. Only actor I think ruined a game was Peter Dinklage

I recognized Geist, Volk, Elena, and Mox right away.

Last i heard, most people who are generally involved in Sci Fi are actually fans of sci fi. I imagine they enjoyed doing the voices and they are a good fit IMHO.

I would've been happier with a lower price DLC and unknown voice actors. There are plenty of good voice actors that probably doesn't cost as much as Cmdr Ryker, or Diana Troi.

Some of those actors ar repped by the same agency. I imagine the others are repped by a sister agency. That's why you'll often enough see the same people working together on similar projects.

But EVERYBODY loves Denise Crosby! Literally everybody! Even if you have absolutely no idea who that is, having her voice grace your ears is worth a million dollars, not just a mere 40!

They are not just tv/movie actors though. All of those Star Trek actors have done a ton of voice work over the years. If anyone remembers that old Gargoyles cartoon, it featured pretty much the whole cast of TNG. That was back in the 90's and they have all been very busy since then.

I think they did a fantastic job and it was a pleasant surprise when I first heard them.

I would imagine this long after TNG the Star Trek cast are not particularly expensive to hire and short on work.
