XCOM 2
Game cannot start, missing VCOMP140.DLL?
Hello, my dad is getting this message whenever he tries to start War of the Chosen. He is running Windows 10, and I use 8 and am having a hard time helping him. Any advice?

We were looking forward to playing through together and this is frustrating.

Verify game files.

Try to download and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ in your PC and see if that helps. You can download it from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
For all applications to work, you may need to install both the x86 and x64 version.

After downloading these files, you will need to go to your "Add/Remove Programs" and remove Microsoft C++ 2015-2109.... It will be the two latest versions of Microsoft C++ redistributables. However, this may effect other programs on your computer. So, use caution with this method.

Steam bundles various redistributables
<Steam>\SteamApps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist

Just go through each subdirectory and (re)install everything

make sure your settings are on high - or lower, but NOT maxamum when you go to start a game - this has fixed my game in the past for me.
